HYPERLITE

Hyperlite State 2.0 Wakeboard

Progression-Friendly Asymmetric Wakeboard for Beginner and Intermediate Riders

The Hyperlite State 2.0 is the wakeboard Hyperlite built to flatten the learning curve. An Abrupt Continuous Rocker loads cleanly off the wake, the Biolite 3 Core keeps swing weight low, and the asymmetrical shape with a shorter toe-side edge makes switch riding feel as natural as heelside. It is the board we put in the hands of every guest who is still learning to carve, ride switch, or land their first wake-to-wake.

Built with Monocoque Layered Glass construction and molded-in Disorder fins, the State 2.0 is also designed to survive charter-season abuse. Four size options across 130, 135, 140 and 145 cm cover riders from 45 kg up to 80 kg+, and the M6 insert pattern pairs with every current Hyperlite binding, making it straightforward to spec a complete package for mixed groups of charter guests.

Built for Progression

The Abrupt Continuous Rocker and Biolite 3 Core work together to deliver a predictable, forgiving pop off the wake. Beginners stand up faster, and intermediate riders progress from carving to their first wake-to-wake jumps with confidence.

Charter-Grade Construction

Monocoque Layered Glass construction with molded-in Disorder fins removes the most common failure points (loose fin hardware, delaminated rails) and stands up to daily charter guest use across a full Med season.

Asymmetric Shape

Shaper Aaron Stumpf's asymmetrical design pairs a shorter toe-side edge with molded-in toe-side footbed risers, so switch riding feels as natural as heelside — a huge advantage for guests still finding their orientation on the water.

Why the Hyperlite State 2.0 for Your Superyacht?

Most yacht-guest wakeboard sessions aren't about landing inverts — they're about getting up on the board in the first place, carving between the wakes, and eventually trying a small jump. The Hyperlite State 2.0 is engineered for exactly that moment. Its Abrupt Continuous Rocker delivers a predictable release off the wake, the Biolite 3 Core keeps the swing weight low so the board feels easy to control, and the asymmetrical shape means riders don't have to relearn their stance when they switch edges. It is the progression wakeboard Hyperlite keeps in its line-up year after year because it works.

From a charter-ops perspective, durability and size range matter as much as ride quality. The Monocoque Layered Glass construction with molded-in Disorder fins has no field-replaceable hardware to loosen or lose, and the M6 insert pattern is compatible with every current Hyperlite binding — so a single binding pair covers a whole fleet of State 2.0 boards. Four sizes (130, 135, 140, 145 cm) cover guests from roughly 45 kg through 80 kg+, so one or two boards aboard can handle a typical charter group.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the "2.0" in Hyperlite State 2.0 mean?

The "2.0" is Hyperlite's internal revision marker for the board. The original State was the entry-level progression wakeboard in the Hyperlite range, and the State 2.0 is the updated generation with the Biolite 3 Core, Abrupt Continuous Rocker and asymmetrical shape refined for faster beginner-to-intermediate progression. The 2.0 is the current model year — any "State" boards we quote today are the 2.0 unless specified otherwise.

What does the asymmetric shape actually do?

A traditional wakeboard is symmetric — the toe-side and heel-side edges are mirror images. The State 2.0 has a shorter toe-side edge and molded-in toe-side footbed risers. The shorter edge makes toe-side carves tighter and more forgiving, while the risers shift the rider's stance slightly forward when going toe-side. Net effect: switch riding (riding with the non-dominant foot forward) feels far more natural, which matters for beginners who haven't yet fixed a preferred stance.

How do I choose between the 130, 135, 140 and 145 cm sizes?

Go by rider weight. Hyperlite's guidance is: 130 cm for 100-150 lb (45-68 kg), 135 cm for 120-170 lb (54-77 kg), 140 cm for 150-200 lb (68-91 kg), and 145 cm for 175 lb+ (79 kg+). Where riders overlap two sizes, the shorter board turns quicker and is easier for beginners; the longer board is more stable at speed and gives a smoother wake landing.

Which bindings are compatible with the State 2.0?

The board uses Hyperlite's M6 insert pattern, which is compatible with every current Hyperlite wakeboard binding. You can buy bindings in Hyperlite's Remix, Frequency, Team or Murray lines to match any boot size from youth through XL. A single pair of adjustable bindings (e.g. Remix with the size-adjust system) covers a wide range of boot sizes for shared charter use.

What is the Biolite 3 Core?

Biolite 3 is Hyperlite's low-swing-weight composite core built on a balsa-wood base. The low swing weight makes the board feel lighter and more responsive underfoot, which helps beginners generate edge control without muscling the board around. It also produces a livelier pop off the wake for riders starting to learn jumps.

Is the State 2.0 durable enough for charter guest use?

Yes. Monocoque Layered Glass construction means the outer shell and core are bonded as a single unit — no field-replaceable hardware on the fins, no loose edge rails. The molded-in 1.3" Disorder fins eliminate the most common charter failure point (lost or loose fin screws after guests ride in shallow water). Pair the board with a tough bag for storage and it comfortably handles a full Med charter season.

Do you deliver the Hyperlite State 2.0 to ports outside Malta?

Yes. Mercer Yachting ships to every major Mediterranean yacht hub — Antibes, Palma de Mallorca, Monaco, Genoa, Athens, and Split — and worldwide by air or sea freight to any nominated port or agent. Typical Mediterranean delivery is 5–10 business days depending on destination and carrier. Rush options are available for charter-season emergencies.

How many wakeboards should a charter yacht carry?

For a 40 m+ yacht hosting 8–12 guests we typically recommend two State 2.0 boards in different sizes (one 135 cm for lighter riders, one 140 or 145 cm for heavier riders) plus one pair of adjustable Hyperlite bindings. Add a Jobe Raddix wakesurfer for ropeless surfing and a set of Jobe Allegre waterskis, and the yacht is covered across every common guest watersports preference.
