How the Safety System Works
The RACLAN Box uses a five-stage automated response to detect, contain, and suppress lithium battery thermal runaway events.
Monitor
Electronic sensors continuously monitor battery temperature and charge status throughout every cycle.
Detect
If temperature exceeds ~90°C (thermal switch threshold), the system triggers immediately. No human intervention required.
Alarm & Isolate
80 dB acoustic and visual alarms activate. Charging power is automatically cut to prevent further energy input.
Suppress
The integrated TRIDENT® extinguishing agent floods the interior, suppressing thermal runaway and preventing fire propagation.
Filter & Vent
Toxic gases (hydrogen chloride) are filtered through the exhaust system. External surface temperature remains below 100°C.

Is the RACLAN Box approved for road transport?
The RACLAN Box is aligned with 2026 ADR regulations and UK road safety requirements for the transport of lithium batteries. It is also compliant with IMDG Code for sea transport. Always declare battery contents to your transport provider and provide supporting certification documentation.
Can I charge multiple batteries at once?
Yes. The RACLAN Box supports multiple charger connections, allowing several batteries to be charged simultaneously inside the safety enclosure while under active electronic monitoring. Ensure total battery capacity does not exceed 1.75 kWh.
What happens if thermal runaway occurs inside the RACLAN Box?
If thermal runaway is detected, the RACLAN Box automatically activates acoustic and visual alarms, cuts charging power, and deploys the TRIDENT® extinguishing agent to flood the interior and suppress the fire. The integrated exhaust system filters toxic gases (hydrogen chloride) before venting. External surface temperature remains below 100°C throughout the event. The box should not be re-used until inspected and refilled by a qualified technician.
