Product Overview

RAMBSS (Raclan Maritime Battery Safety System) is the first purpose-built modular lithium battery fire safety system designed for the superyacht industry. Each module provides a complete safety enclosure for lithium battery storage and active charging, with integrated monitoring, fire detection, automatic extinguishing, and toxic gas filtration.

The system is built around Panzerholz® enclosures (synthetic resin pressed wood per DIN 7707), each equipped with TRIDENT® coolant (water-based, 100% ecologically safe) + fresh water submersion (2-stage response), multi-stage hydrogen fluoride (HF) gas filtration, active fanned cooling, 80 dB acoustic alarm, thermal switch triggering at ~90°C, and a 90-day emergency backup power supply. RAMBSS modules connect to the vessel's onboard alarm and monitoring control system (AMCS) and provide WiFi remote monitoring via a built-in touch screen interface.

How It Works

Place Charger and Battery Inside Module

Open the module, place your battery charger and lithium battery pack inside the Panzerholz® (DIN 7707) enclosure.

Plug Charger Into Internal Socket

Connect the charger to the module's internal charging socket. The module provides a controlled power supply to the charger.

Electronics Monitor Temperature and Gas

The module's onboard electronics continuously monitor internal temperature and gas levels throughout the entire charge cycle.

Active Fanned Cooling

Integrated fans maintain safe internal temperatures during charging, preventing heat build-up that could initiate thermal runaway.

Thermal Runaway Response

If the thermal switch triggers at ~90°C: the module sounds an 80 dB acoustic alarm, cuts power to the charger, floods the interior with TRIDENT® coolant (water-based, 100% ecologically safe) followed by fresh water submersion (2-stage response), and activates multi-stage HF gas filtration to prevent toxic gases from reaching crew spaces.

Test result: External module temperature did not exceed 100°C during thermal runaway testing.

What batteries fit inside RAMBSS modules?

RAMBSS modules support batteries up to 4.35 kWh (Modules 1 & 2) or 5.25 kWh (Module 3). Module 1 (60 × 60 × 50 cm, ~50 kg) fits e-foil batteries and smaller water toy packs. Module 2 (60 × 60 × 75 cm, ~75 kg) fits larger battery packs and multiple batteries. Module 3 (60 × 60 × 152 cm, ~120 kg) fits Seabobs with their integrated batteries. Compatible with Fliteboard, Audi e-tron Aerofoils, Liftfoils, Awake, Seabob, Lampuga, Radinn, Jetsurf, and all other lithium-powered water toys.

How does RAMBSS connect to the vessel's alarm system?

RAMBSS integrates with the vessel's onboard alarm and monitoring control system (AMCS) for centralised safety oversight. Each module also includes a built-in touch screen interface for local status monitoring and WiFi remote monitoring capability, allowing crew to check module status from anywhere on board. Alarms are routed through the vessel's existing safety architecture.
