What's the difference between the Awake VINGA eFoil and the RÄVIK jetboard?
They are two completely different riding disciplines from the same Swedish manufacturer. The VINGA is an eFoil — a hydrofoil wing beneath the board lifts the rider clear of the water at cruising speed for a silent, flying ride. The RÄVIK is a jetboard — it rides on the water surface, powered by a jet drive, closer to a motorised surfboard. Most superyachts that carry both cover every guest preference: foil-capable riders take the VINGA, everyone else takes the RÄVIK.
How does the VINGA Ultimate differ from the VINGA Adventure?
The Ultimate is the agile, high-performance model. It runs a smaller 60 L board (vs 95 L on the Adventure), a smaller Powder 1400 wing (vs Powder 1800 + Cruise stabilizer), and tops out at 55 kph (vs 50 kph). The result is faster acceleration, tighter turns, and a more dynamic ride — but less forgiving for complete beginners. Both share the same 4–8.2 kW drivetrain, 80 cm mast, Flex battery options, and up to 120 minutes of runtime.
What's the learning curve on an eFoil like the VINGA Ultimate?
Most adults with prior board-sport experience (surfing, wakeboarding, SUP) can stand up and begin foiling within one to three sessions. The VINGA Ultimate is the more advanced model in the Awake lineup — it's engineered for fast turns and intense acceleration, so guests who are brand-new to foiling may progress faster on the Adventure before stepping up. We can supply both models as a fleet pair so charter operators cover every skill level.
How long does the battery last and what are the charging options?
With the Flex Battery LR 4 the VINGA Ultimate runs for 60 minutes; with the Flex Battery XR 4 (2.55 kWh) it runs for 120 minutes. A charger is included in the box. For back-to-back guest sessions we recommend carrying a second XR 4 battery (€4,990) so one charges on deck while the other flies.
Is the VINGA Ultimate serviceable through a Malta dealer?
Yes. Mercer Yachting operates the Awake dealer desk from Marsaskala, Malta, sharing logistics and technical back-up with sister company Ritz Marine. We stock genuine Awake spares, handle warranty liaison directly with the factory in Sweden, and arrange commissioning at the yacht's berth across the Mediterranean.
What warranty coverage does the VINGA Ultimate carry?
Every unit ships with Awake's standard manufacturer warranty, handled through our dealer desk. Exact terms — including battery coverage and drivetrain guarantees — are confirmed in writing with each quote. Units are supplied new and unregistered so the warranty clock starts from your delivery date, not ex-factory.
Can I pair the VINGA Ultimate with a RÄVIK jetboard fleet package?
Yes — and this is how most superyachts buy Awake. A typical 40 m+ fleet package is one or two RÄVIK Ultimate jetboards for surface-riding guests plus one VINGA Ultimate (or Adventure) for foil-capable riders. Sharing a single manufacturer simplifies spare parts, chargers, and crew training, and Mercer Yachting bundles these into a single quote and delivery.
Is the VINGA Ultimate safe for beginners to try?
Beginners can try it with proper supervision, but the Ultimate is engineered as the agile high-performance option in the range — it rewards experience and is less forgiving than the Adventure. For charter programmes with mixed skill levels we recommend carrying the Adventure as the primary guest-friendly foil and the Ultimate for advanced riders. Always brief riders on the Flex Hand Controller, the kill-switch, and a clear recovery protocol before the first session.
