Authorised eFoil Dealer in Malta — Serving Superyacht Charter Fleets Across the Mediterranean

Mercer Yachting is a Malta-based authorised dealer for Fliteboard, Lift and Awake. From our base in Marsaskala we coordinate delivery, commissioning, crew briefings and after-sales service to every major Mediterranean yachting hub — Antibes, Palma de Mallorca, Monaco, Genoa, Athens and Split — alongside direct delivery anywhere in Malta's Grand Harbour, Portomaso and Mgarr. Worldwide freight is available to any nominated port or shipyard for owners repositioning between Caribbean and Mediterranean seasons.

Charter programme managers choose us because we treat eFoils as operational assets, not hobby kit. Every unit ships with a bonded spare-parts list, crew quick-start cards, and a maintenance logbook tailored to MCA-flagged charter vessels. Where the guest list includes first-time riders we add the Flitescooter or Awake VINGA Adventure for confidence; where the charter is filled with experienced foilers we specify the Fliteboard ULTRA L3 and Awake VINGA Ultimate so the boards can keep up. Owners who run multi-brand tender fleets appreciate that we integrate eFoils with jetboards, SeaBobs and towables as a single-vendor package under one quotation.

Fliteboard Authorised Service Centre — Malta

Mercer Yachting is an authorised Fliteboard service centre based in Marsaskala, Malta. We're certified by Fliteboard (Australia) to sell new units, process warranty claims and carry out servicing to manufacturer standards across the full range — PRO Series 6, AIR, Icon, ULTRA L3 and Flitescooter. For yachts in Maltese waters we offer same-day quayside service; for vessels elsewhere in the central Mediterranean we arrange collection, workshop repair and return within 5–7 working days.

What Fliteboard makes — and why charter fleets choose it

Fliteboard was founded in Australia in 2018 and has become the dominant eFoil brand in the superyacht market. The build is full carbon fibre with precision-machined hardware and a Bluetooth thumb-controller for trim adjustment in flight. Batteries deliver 45–90 minutes of ride time depending on rider weight, throttle style and conditions. For superyacht guests, eFoiling has become one of the most-requested onboard activities — near-silent (no engine noise disturbing neighbouring vessels at anchor), flat-water capable (no boat wake needed) and visually striking on the social-media reel charter clients almost always cut at the end of a week.

Service programme — what's included

  • Battery health checks: capacity testing, cell-balancing verification, connector inspection. Recommended every 6 months or 100 charge cycles.
  • Motor servicing: bearing inspection, seal replacement, impeller checks. Salt-water intrusion is the leading cause of motor failure.
  • Mast and wing inspection: carbon-fibre integrity check, bolt torque verification, bearing replacement when needed.
  • Controller diagnostics: Bluetooth pairing, throttle calibration, firmware updates to the latest stable version.
  • Cosmetic repairs: board refinishing, non-slip pad replacement, minor impact-damage repair.

Warranty work is handled directly with Fliteboard on the customer's behalf. Out-of-warranty repairs are quoted individually. Typical turnaround at our Malta facility is 3–5 working days for routine items, longer for any part Fliteboard has to ship from Australia. For vessels mid-season in Antibes, Palma, Monaco, Genoa, Athens or Split we either dispatch a technician via field service or coordinate with the local agent — whichever returns the board to the water faster.

Spares stocked in Marsaskala

We carry the high-runner spares locally — masts, fuselages, propellers, wing bolts, remote batteries and Flitecell battery packs — so the typical "we need a part" delay is removed for charter crews operating to a guest schedule.

Need Help Choosing the Right eFoil?

Our water sports specialists will match skill level, storage footprint and guest profile to a shortlist of 2–3 boards — then handle delivery, commissioning and crew training end-to-end.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reviewed by , Operations Lead · Updated 23 May 2026

What is an eFoil?

An eFoil is an electric hydrofoil board: the rider stands on a surfboard-style deck that sits above a submerged hydrofoil wing, propelled by a battery-powered electric motor. Once the board reaches foiling speed the hull lifts clear of the water and the rider glides above the surface, almost silently, with no drag from the board itself. Acceleration and deceleration are controlled by a handheld Bluetooth remote.

Fliteboard vs Lift vs Awake — which brand should I choose?

All three are premium. Fliteboard (Australia) has the widest model range, including the only true inflatable eFoil (AIR) and the handlebar-equipped Flitescooter — the safest bet for mixed-ability charter guests. Lift (USA) builds the longest-lasting batteries on the market; the Gen5 pack in the LIFT5 platform delivers up to 90 min full-throttle. Awake (Sweden) is the performance specialist — the VINGA Ultimate hits 55 kph and is the board of choice for experienced foilers. Most Mercer Yachting fleets run a mix of all three.

What skill level do I need to ride an eFoil?

We stock eFoils across the full spectrum. The Flitescooter (removable handlebars) and Awake VINGA Adventure (95L, stable) are designed for absolute beginners and have guests flying within one or two sessions. The Fliteboard Icon and Lift 5 Sport are all-levels boards. The Fliteboard PRO Series 6 and Awake VINGA Ultimate reward intermediate-to-advanced riders, while the 4'4" / 49L Fliteboard ULTRA L3 is an expert-only competition board.

How long does an eFoil battery last?

Typical runtime is 45–120 minutes on a single charge depending on rider weight, throttle style and board model. The Awake VINGA Ultimate's XR 4 / 2.55 kWh battery delivers up to 120 min of cruising, the Lift 5 Pro's Gen5 pack is rated for around 90 min at full throttle, and Fliteboard Flitecell batteries give 45–90 min in normal use. For continuous charter operation we always recommend a spare battery and a fast charger so one pack is in use while the other is on the dock.

Are eFoils safe for charter guests to use?

Yes, with the right board and a proper brief. Every board we supply has a progressive throttle remote (rider sets a top-speed cap before starting), GeoFence / Geofenced Zones on Fliteboard and Lift (restrict the board to a defined area around the yacht), and a tethered magnetic kill switch that cuts power the moment the remote is released. We include a written guest briefing card and pair first-timers with the Flitescooter or Awake VINGA Adventure for the first session.

Where are your eFoils delivered?

Our home delivery hub is Malta (Marsaskala, Grand Harbour, Portomaso, Mgarr). We coordinate regular Mediterranean delivery to Antibes, Palma de Mallorca, Monaco, Genoa, Athens and Split, and we arrange worldwide air or sea freight for any nominated port or agent — including Caribbean repositioning for charter yachts heading to the Bahamas, BVI and St Barths for winter.

How are eFoils serviced?

Every board ships with a maintenance logbook and manufacturer warranty. Mercer Yachting offers a Mediterranean service rotation: our Malta workshop handles battery diagnostics, motor service, wing inspections and firmware updates, with field service available in Antibes, Palma, Monaco, Genoa, Athens and Split. We stock the high-runner spares — masts, fuselages, propellers, wing bolts, remote batteries — so charter crews are rarely waiting on a shipment.

How do eFoils compare to jetboards?

Both are electric water toys, but the ride is fundamentally different. eFoils lift the rider clear of the water on a hydrofoil wing — silent, drag-free, glide-oriented, and best in calm or light-chop water. Jetboards sit on the water surface, are motor-driven, much noisier (relatively), handle chop better and accelerate harder off the line. Most superyacht toy lockers carry both, with eFoils reserved for anchorage sessions and jetboards used for longer runs between coves.

Is Mercer Yachting an authorised Fliteboard service centre?

Yes. We're certified by Fliteboard (Australia) to sell new units, process warranty claims, and carry out repairs and servicing to manufacturer standards on the PRO Series 6, AIR, Icon, ULTRA L3 and Flitescooter. Spares are stocked locally in Marsaskala.

Can you service a Fliteboard at my yacht's current location?

For yachts in Maltese waters — Grand Harbour, Portomaso, Mgarr, Marsaskala — we offer same-day quayside service. For vessels in the central Mediterranean we either arrange collection and workshop repair (5–7 working days door-to-door) or dispatch a technician via field service to Antibes, Palma, Monaco, Genoa, Athens or Split — whichever gets the board back on the water faster.

What does Fliteboard warranty service include?

As an authorised service centre we handle warranty claims directly with Fliteboard on the customer's behalf — motor faults, battery issues, controller problems and structural defects. Out-of-warranty repairs (wing replacements, mast inspections, Flitecell battery diagnostics) are quoted individually. Turnaround is 3–5 working days for routine items at the Marsaskala workshop.
