Who is the Fliteboard Icon designed for?
Fliteboard positions the Icon as the all-rounder in the range, suitable for all levels of experience and riding style. Its 100 L volume and beginner-friendly Cruiser Jet 1500 C wing make it the easiest board in the Fliteboard line-up to stand up on for the first time, while still being capable enough for intermediate riders. It's the eFoil we recommend for superyachts that need one board to serve owners, guests, and crew.
What construction should I specify for a superyacht?
Fliteboard offers the Icon in Carbon, Fibreglass, and Soft Top 2. Carbon is the lightest and most premium option. Fibreglass balances strength and flexibility. Soft Top 2 has a grip-first, durable deck that is usually the best choice for charter programmes with high guest turnover. Mercer Yachting can advise based on your use profile.
What is the rider weight limit?
Fliteboard rates the Icon for riders up to 265 lb (120 kg). For heavier riders Fliteboard also offers the Flite Prop as an alternative to the Flite Jet 2 for additional thrust — contact Mercer Yachting to discuss the right configuration for your guest profile.
Which Flitecell battery is included and what's the upgrade?
The Icon ships with the Flitecell Sport, which Fliteboard describes as balancing agility with ride time. The Flitecell Explore is the recommended upgrade for maximum range. For yachts running multiple sessions per day, we recommend pairing the Icon with at least one spare Flitecell to keep the board in the water during charging windows.
Which wings come with the Icon?
The Icon is delivered with the Cruiser Jet 1500 C primary wing and the 300 C rear stabiliser. Fliteboard describes this pairing as offering excellent performance at low to moderate speeds, including for carving — which is the riding window most commonly used in superyacht bays and anchorages.
How does the Icon compare to the Fliteboard PRO and AIR?
The PRO (5'0", 67 L) is shorter, lighter, and more agile — aimed at intermediate to advanced riders with boardsport experience. The AIR uses reinforced inflatable construction for maximum durability and is excellent for crew rotations or shallow stowage. The Icon sits between them as the best all-rounder, with the highest volume and the most forgiving first-time experience.
Do you deliver to ports outside Malta?
Yes. Mercer Yachting ships to every major Mediterranean yachting hub — Antibes, Palma de Mallorca, Monaco, Genoa, Athens, and Split — and worldwide by air or sea freight to any nominated port or agent. Typical Mediterranean delivery is 5–10 business days depending on destination and carrier.
Is the Fliteboard Icon cleared for lithium carriage aboard?
Fliteboard supplies the Icon with UN 38.3-tested Flitecells and full manufacturer documentation. Mercer Yachting can advise on lithium storage, charging, and safety-case conformity aboard — see our lithium safety guidance for the wider battery-handling framework that applies to eFoils, seabobs, and Flite–compatible charging systems.
